Bases of complex exponentials with restricted supports

چکیده
The complex exponentials with integer frequencies form a basis for the space of square integrable functions on unit interval. We analyze whether property is maintained if support restricted to possibly overlapping subsets show, example, that S1,…,SK⊂[0,1] are finite unions intervals rational endpoints cover interval, then there exists partition Z into sets Λ1,…,ΛK such ⋃k=1K{e2πiλ(⋅)χSk:λ∈Λk} Riesz L2[0,1]. Here, χS denotes characteristic function S.

A compact domain in R n is a spectral set if there is some subset of R n such that fexp(2ih; xi) : 2 g when restricted to gives an orthogonal basis of L 2 ((). The set is called a spectrum for. We give a criterion for being a spectrum of a given set in terms of tiling Fourier space by translates of a suitable auxiliary set D. We apply this criterion to classify all spectra for the n-cube by sho...

In other words, it is conventional to write x in place of (x, 0) and i in place of (0, 1). In this notation, the sum and product of two complex numbers z1 = x1 + iy1 and z2 = x2 + iy2 is given by z1 + z2 = (x1 + x2) + i(y1 + y2) z1z2 = x1x2 − y1y2 + i(x...

b-> bi where a„ = log bn. (Wherever the logarithm is used in this article it is understood to be the principal branch of the function.) However, this way of writing an infinite exponential is ambiguous since it is not clear what value of z is to be used, and since different choices of z may lead to different convergence behavior of the sequence. Instead of 2=1, we could have used 2 = 0 without ...
